A) Three responses studied in Psychology...never thinking how they would play out in real life with the terrible New York City attack in January of 2001, AND this past Saturday, January 8th.
B) The original theory developed by an excellent, original thinker years ago first involved research with animals (Physiology).
C) "...reacting to threats with a general response...."
D) "Without 'thinking', does a person's first reaction to a 'threat' involve going TOWARDS the threat to react/help...turning back and away or freezing in place?
E) Important point! Clear away any thoughts of the reaction, please, as being labelled simply as being cowardly!! Not true according to the original research eventually evolving to the study of humans.
F) "Instinct" from within appears to be a prime causal to what reaction is taken.
G) Remember those hundreds of fire and police personnel, during 1/11, who ran TOWARDS the impending tragedy? They had been trained to react to help to save their fellow humans! Many others were not trained to do so and fled in flight. Cowards? I do not believe so.
H) This past Saturday, January 8th...Dorwan( 76) and Mary Stoddard had known each other as children in Tucson and married nearly 15 years. Beside him, he saw his Mary shot and immediately fell on her to protect her, dying for that heroic act!! Now, can you see and understand the previous points here?
