a) Anyone else tired of this ridiculously CRASS phrase that doesn't have one iota of personality, genuineness and sincerity in it, around it or about it?
b) I...am so turned off by it that I will not shop there or go in that place of business, again. WHY? "It" is so impersonal and is copying a stupid, insipid 21st phrase created by an ignorant employee at a Walls-Mart in Chicago back in December of 1999, to "get even" with a boss who expected the store to sincerely THANK customers who spent their $$$ there!
c) And was created to take the place of the simple but polite, sincere and effective response to that same decent customer: "THANK YOU!"
d) The insensitive "have a nice day" is always rattled off one after the other to customers in a line anywhere, like an automatic coneyeor belt, right?
e) Yes, I cringe upon having it THROWN at me and, now, immediately respond with a "THANK YOU...this customer likes and respects a 'thank you' instead of your mechanical expression." And ask to see a manager.... Is this sociologist a passionate and firm believer in respectful treatment in public when one spends $$$? I, in return, share it forward or back.
*******MORE INFORMATION: now I understand that "companies" and "bosses" all over our America DEMAND and EXPECT their good and decent employees to say this inspid, callous "H.A.N.D" expression to every customer...no matter what! As a customer, I then and also have the right and passion to NOT accept this "auto" expression of insencerity!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My discovery, then, now understands that the "bosses" are responsible for DUMBING DOWN our once personal, sincere society, one on one. Wallgreens, in my hometown of Williamsburg, DOES NOT use this "H.A.N.D" expression...anymore!
