53- COOKIE MYSTERIES SOLVED!....

A) What makes a GINGER SNAP Cookie S-N-A-P?  Ginger Snap cookies were "invented" waaaay back in the 15th century!  Just the Archway Co. alone bakes an average of 150 million a year.  The indgedients are simple...mainly flour and molasses as a sweetner.  And what is the mystery behind the Ginger Snaps snapping?  Hmmm, it's the texture...hard!  Go figure....
B) Did FORTUNE COOKIES originate in China?  NO!  Back in 1914, the LA Peking Noodle Co. created them, becoming popular later on in our Great Depression era.  They still originate like a pancake batter and start out as round flat cookies, baked, but left for a brief time as "wet"....and that's when the "fortunes" are laid on and folded over, to "dry" and all automatically.
And what's the proper way of eating 'em?  Any darn way YOU so desire!  Most, probably, crack 'em in middle, eat and read...?  Oh, since 1916, have the tiny fortunes changed in wording?  Does a Dr Pepper have a "period" between Dr and Pepper?
